Last weeks post of the Oregon Coastline invoked a sense of serenity and in keeping with that theme, this week I am posting two captures of sailboats on San Diego Bay. These scenes are clearly different than last weeks, but invoke the same sense of serenity to me. I can just feel the peacefulness as the boats slip through the water with a gentle ocean breeze caressing my face.
This first capture was taken from Seaport Village just south of downtown looking across the bay to Coronado Island.
The second capture is reversed if you will. This capture was taken from Coronado Island looking back at downtown San Diego.

Sailboats always look so romantic. And your pictures do just that.
Thank you very much Darlene!! I appreciate you taking the time to stop by!!
I appreciate the soothing theme Kirt. It’s much needed and I would love to go sailing, especially on a boat like that one! I’ve only been twice on very small and basic boats.
I agree about sailing on one of these boats…unfortunately in all the years we lived in the San Diego area, I never knew anyone who actually owned one like these. My sailing on the bay was restricted to larger charters I was able to book as a reward for my employees at Christmas time. That was always so cool!! Take care of yourself, Brad! Thank for stopping by!
That sounds nice too. Any sailing is peaceful, at least on calm waters!
Agreed!!
No place I’d rather be than on a sail boat upon the sea.
Beautiful images. I would LOVE to sail in San Diego.
With the weather San Diego enjoys, there are sailboats on the bay almost everyday!! It’s a beautiful spot for sailing…
Peacefulness indeed. Sailboats always evoke a calm. And where better then in San Diego!
I agree Nancy!! I have always enjoyed the sailboats that populate the bay on almost any given day!
These are great images, Kirt. I had a small (18′) sailboat for a few years. Nowhere like that to sail it in, but I know the feeling, and these images brought that feeling back.
That’s cool, Dan! I just love the peace and quiet of sailing! On any given day you see quite a few sailboats in the bay!
Sigh… the water, the sunlight, the sound of the water against the boat… You had me feeling all those things, Kirt. Thanks for the boat trip in the bay. I really liked seeing the view from both shores! Hugs on the wing.
Thanks for taking a sailing break Teagan!! I appreciate you stopping by!
Looks interesting to see a sail boat in front of skyscrapers.
That’s part of what appealed to me when I took the original shot! Thanks for stopping by!!
Beautiful images of a beautiful city!
Thank you and I so agree about the beauty of the city!!
Lovely! We haven’t been down to the ocean for over a month, and your photos made me wistful. I think it’s time to take a drive… 🙂
Road trip!!!!
Thank you for the feedback and for stopping by!!
Brilliant photos as always Kirt! Yes, I can imagine the breeze as I sail on by! There can be nothing better!
Thanks for the feedback Gill and thanks for stopping by!!
Pleasure!
Your soothing words about the breeze in your face transported me into these beautiful images. Such serenity is what we need these days. Thank you for providing such an escape.
My pleasure and thanks for stopping by Sue!! Have a great weekend!
Great shots! We used to be sailors when we lived close to the Barnegat Bay in South Jersey. There are a few boats on our reservoir. It always amuses me when I see boats on people’s property here since there aren’t too many places big enough to enjoy them.
Thanks for stopping by!! I have always loved boating….never owned a boat but have been blessed with friends and family that have had one. Have a great weekend!!
