Abstract Towers and Sketched Towers – Featured Art Prints

Abstract Towers and Sketched Towers are wall art prints I created using an abstract watercolor technique of high-rise buildings. This technique uses abstract bold lines with traditional watercolor to create the image. This is a similar technique I used on the abstract art print Yellow and Purple which I featured a couple of weeks ago.

The perspective of these prints is looking up from street level. The setting is downtown Seattle, a vibrant and active center of urban life for both the locals and the many tourist that visit the city. Having exploded in growth over the last 20 years, Seattle has become a very trend setting and dynamic market. The downtown urban corridor reflects that flavor. The architecture of the buildings display a variety of styles and looks. The downtown skyline stretches across the waterfront of Elliot Bay from the Seattle Center (home of the Space Needle) to the north to the sports complex (home of the Seahawks “football”, Sounders “soccer” and Mariners “baseball”) to the south. Thoughts?

Southern Colonial Home – Featured Art Print

In keeping with the New Orleans theme from my last post (New Orleans Victorian), I wanted to take a different approach to the architectural details found in the homes located within the Garden District in New Orleans. In this print, I used a sketching technique and kept it strong and bold to highlight the lines and details of this beautiful home. The black and white aspect keeps the visual experience focused on the details of the shapes in the scene. The end result is a strong visual statement of the beauty of this mansion nestled amongst the plants on the property. Thoughts?

New Orleans Victorian – Featured Art Print

The setting is the Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. This area is known for tree-lined streets with large mansions. The district is like stepping back in time with the beauty of the different architectural styles these homes represent.

For this particular print, I used a gothic oil technique that uses strong brush strokes and warm earth tones creating an old world look. I created this print to not only look and feel “old world”, but to also focus on the intricate architectural details typical with Victorian Mansions. Thoughts?

Yellow And Purple – Featured Art Print

“Yellow and Purple” This particular print is an abstract expression that I had fun creating by drawing the shapes and creating the colors in a very simplistic style. Both were created using a digital free hand drawing and painting technique. I think the end result presents a fun, colorful and clean contemporary design. Thoughts?
