Stop and Take a Pause on Your Journey

Day in and day out each of us have so many things going on albeit it physically or mentally. It is usually what needs to get done or what do I need to accomplish today. It can be your mind racing about current issues in your life or stressing about the future….it’s a multitude of ongoing things. When I feel myself getting a bit overwhelmed, I remind myself to pause, take a deep breath and quiet my mind. I like to picture myself hiking one of my favorite trails in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest….the peace and quiet of the forest takes over…….

I Quiet My Mind – Featured Art Print

I’m featuring this art print this week for a couple of reasons. First and foremost is the prayer on this print and secondly the print was created from one of my many hikes in the Pacific Northwest.

My wife and I have been blessed with three wonderful daughters and have spent the past weekend in the Seattle area participating in the wedding of our youngest and the last of the three to get married. The ceremony was incredible and my third walk down the aisle with one of my girls. The time we spent with family on both sides is priceless and I am so grateful for my siblings and their children flying in for this celebration. It was an incredible weekend and gives me pause to reflect on how blessed we are.

Mrs. T and I got married in college, waited until our late 20’s to start a family and had the joy of raising three girls (I had to readjust my communication style as I grew up with two brothers and one sister…my poor sister). The time goes by so quickly and has made us very thankful for our family and friends who have blessed our lives. I continue to give thanks for the blessings of life.

May this find you and yours well, happy and blessed…even when the road of life gives you twists and turns.  Kirt

Lift Me Up – Featured Art Print

The art print I am featuring today is called “Lift Me Up”. The art print itself was created using a gothic oil technique, giving the hot air balloons an old world look. I put a personal prayer of mine on as an overlay, with the prayer and subject working hand in hand. I think all of us from time to time feel tired, weary and frustrated. I reach out with this simple prayer…..Thoughts?

Guide Me Back – A Featured Art Print

I want to feature an art print that was born as a result of my blog a couple of weeks ago. The art print is titled ” Guide Me Back” from my Inspiration Gallery. You might recognize it as “A Path In The Forest” from my Landscape Oil Gallery.

Guide Me Back

Wall Art Print: Guide Me Back

Let me back up for a minute….one of my more popular Inspiration Gallery prints is titled “Life is a Journey”.

Wall Art Print: Life is a Journey

Wall Art Print: Life is a Journey

It depicts a green forest and hiking trail with a personal thought and prayer of mine. A client who has that print and uses it as a daily reminder also reads my blog. They saw “A Path In The Forest” and contacted me asking if I would put my “Life is a Journey” verbiage on that print for them. I do a lot of custom work with that particular gallery (usually different bible versions of verses I have on my art prints) and said, “No problem”. I really liked the way it turned out and decided to add it to the gallery. Thoughts?

I invite you to visit my Inspiration Gallery to enjoy this print and many more.

Joy and Peace – Featured Art Print

As I have mentioned and discussed on this blog, I do custom work for clients either tweaking one of my existing prints (Bougainvillea post as an example) or create a new print for a specific request. A client contacted me a couple of weeks ago about one of my prints in the Inspiration Gallery titled: Joy and Peace. I created this print by using an art print from my Floral Still/Life Gallery of orange poppies (featured in a prior blog) with a prayer of mine as an overlay. Attached is a copy of the print I am talking about.

What the client wanted was the same thing only with red poppies. They also asked to have the verbiage changed from joy and peace to peace and joy. No problem, I responded. I have attached the result of that request below.

In changing the poppies to red, the current color glow around the flowers just didn’t work. I chose purple for a couple of reasons; one being that it looked good with the red and the client loved it and the other is that it does carry some symbolism within the church.

Whenever I finish a custom print, I always study it next to the original to see if what I had done improved the original enough to replace it. In looking at both of these prints, I frankly was at a loss. I liked the red a lot, but also liked the orange, so I present them both to you. Thoughts?

I invite you to come into the gallery to view the addition of art prints to the collection in the Inspiration Gallery.
