It’s that time of year again for the flower fields to be in full bloom. In this post I’m showcasing the fields of blooming daffodils. My next post will revisit the tulip fields in bloom similar to last years visit to Tulip Town. The flower fields are located in the Skagit Valley just west of Mt. Vernon, Washington (north of Seattle). Skagit Valley is a fertile farming valley that typically has field upon field in full bloom with daffodils and a few weeks later tulips this time of year. A few weeks back, we had a sunny day (after numerous days of rain), so my wife and I decided to take advantage of the sunshine by visiting the valley to see the daffodils in full bloom. These fields bloom before the tulip fields, so we also made a return trip a few weeks later to catch the tulips. We weren’t disappointed with the beauty of fields of daffodils in full bloom and many other fields just starting to bloom. In all candor with or without the blooms, the valley is beautiful all by itself. I have attached five captures from our time there. Enjoy!!

It is truly breathtaking to see these colorful fields as far as the eye can see.
Thoughts? As I have said before, everyone reacts to visual art techniques and looks differently, so I am not in the least offended by opinions.

Oh, these are delightful, Kirt – thank you! I’m smiling widely now, and remembering Wordworth’s poem, “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud”. 🙂
Thanks Diane! We missed the daffodils last year and wanted to make sure we hit them this year as their peak is just as the tulips start to bloom (next post). We went back for the tulips a couple of weeks after this!! Hope all is well! Thanks for stopping by!
I loved visiting the daffodil and tulip fields in the Skagit Valley when we lived in that area. Your prints are gorgeous and bring back great memories.
Thanks Darlene! We missed the daffodils last year, but got the tulips. We hit both this year…so beautiful especially with both blooming simultaneously for a brief period!! Hope all is well! Thanks for stopping by!!
I’m dilly for daffys!
I hear you!! 🙂 It is such a stunning sight and there are many fields like this one across the valley! Thanks for stopping by! Hope all is well!
I thoroughly enjoyed these photos, Kirt. I love how you gave us the flowers to infinity, and the bright yellows against the brooding sky were delightful.
It is truly a sight to see!! The valley is a large farming valley and it’s dotted with these blooming fields…very surreal! Thanks for stopping by Jet! Hope all is well!
These are stunning photos, Kirt. I am torn between one looking down the rows as the lines merge like a perspective drawing and the ones that drift to full color against the horizon.
This was just one of the fields….there were a number of them like this across the valley! So beautiful!! We had some flower fields in the San Diego area, but nothing to this extent!! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!!
Oh, how spectacular! I would be standing there in awe! Gorgeous pictures my friend. I love daffodils.
Thanks for sharing!
It is so stunning Nancy!! I had never seen anything like it until we moved up here! I appreciate you stopping by and for the feedback!
Beautiful images Kirt. I hope to see a grand display like this in person one day.
Having grown up in Iowa….I’m use to field upon field of corn, but not flowers!! It truly is a stunning sight!! Thanks for stopping by! My best to you!

rows and rows of blooms !
Thanks Jonathan…much appreciated!! Hope all is well!
HANGING IN THERE, THANKS!
Love the daffs. In North Carolina you know spring has started when they start popping up. I lament that their visit lasts 3 weeks at most.
It’s so beautiful to see large fields of their beautiful blooms!! Tulips next post!! Thanks for stopping by Carl!! Hope all is well!!
I’ve never been to a daffodil field, Kirt. I didn’t know it was a thing, though, of course, it would be. They’re lovely, and the juxtaposition with the darker skies is dramatic. I’m looking forward to the tulips!
Thanks Diana!! They are surreal in person as I’ve never seen anything like these in person. Heh….I grew up in Iowa and all I have seen is corn fields:) This was a huge step up!!
Ha! I’ll bet the tulips with all the colors will be stunning too.
I didn’t know either until I saw Kirt’s post. I did a quick search. There’s a daffodil field 20 miles north of Eugene.
Maybe next year. It was stunning!
Thanks for stopping by Miriam!! Love your post on Tulip fields in Oregon!!
Marvelous images and I enjoyed all your pictures, Kirt. Such wonderful daffodils. Nature is so beautiful and awesome. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for stopping by Kamal!! Just wanted to share the beauty of the fields!! Have a great rest of your week!
You are always welcome Kirt. You too have a great weekend 😊😊
Nothing says Spring like Daffodils, thanks for sharing these lovely photos!
Thanks for stopping by Tiffany!! The fields were so awesome up close and personal!! Hope all is well with you!!
I love daffodils. Your photos are stunning, Kirt! I live in Portland now, moved here from Southern California four months ago to be close to my grandkids. We went to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm last Sunday. I’ll post some photos also. We can compare notes. You have a beautiful blog.
Thank you very much Miriam. Sorry for the delay getting back to you. We’re down in LA for a couple of weeks with our grandkids here. Raised three girls in San Diego….fast forward to present : all three married….2 in the Seattle area starting families and our middle daughter and her husband here in LA have 2…..4 & 6 years old. We love the Pacific Northwest and have been coming up for years. Moved up just over a year ago. Thanks for the feedback on my shots!! Looking forward to to checking yours out!!
Thank you for the nutshell of your life, Kirt. Many of my friends moved close to their children and grandchildren. Being with the family makes sense. I have lived in LA and Orange County since the 1980s. My daughter lives in Portland. After my first granddaughter was born 6 years ago, I visited them about every six weeks except during Covid. We finally moved to Portland five months ago. We just watched the two girls this past weekend.
I have heard somewhere about tulip fields in Holland, Kirt. But I had no idea there are fields of daffodils and later as you mentioned fields of tulip’s in North America. This really is breathtaking. Each of the photos are amazing.🌹
Having grown up in Iowa, I’m use to corn fields, not flower fields..:) To me they make a very surreal look….stunningly beautiful!!! Thanks for the feedback and stopping by!! Have a great week!!
You are very welcome, Kirt. Yes, what I do envision Iowa as corn fields. This would be such an incredible change! 😀
Absolutely stunning, Kirt!
Thank you very much Christy!!
Gorgeous!
