Just gorgeous, Kirt. Ooooh, I love these photos. I was just in Issaquah for a wedding a month ago, and it was still all green. What a pretty town, and even more beautiful in autumn. Cool clouds on Hood too!

We just got back from a couple of weeks in LA and I couldn’t believe the color difference in the trees since we had left up here. The Mt Hood shot was from the Oregon side of the Columbia River near The Dalles.

Wow, they’re all beautiful! Such vivid colours. Up here, everything is drab thanks to three solid months of zero rainfall. The weather forecast predicts rain in a few days, though, so we might still see some pretty fall colours if the trees revive before frost gets them. πŸ™‚

I’m surprised at the color we are having this fall as the entire Pacific Northwest has been without solid rain for three months. On top of that, Diane we have had unhealthy air quality due to the forest fires. We aren’t that far apart distance wise and I was wondering if there was any impact in your area from the smoke?

Yes, we’ve had a lot of smoke in the past month, too. There have been air quality advisories here for the past couple of days, and it looks as though the smoke will stick around until Wednesday or Thursday at least. There’s rain in the forecast for Friday, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t evaporate the way previous forecasts have. Here’s hoping the weather (and prevailing winds) change soon for both of us!

I love seeing the bright fall color against a background of mountains and evergreens. Of course, you could put anything in front of a train station and I’d love it. Thanks for sharing a piece of your world, Kirt.
