Seattle Bound

Space Needle Colorful Sky

Just wanted to give a “heads up”…..I will not be blogging for the next couple of weeks. My wife and I are in the process of moving from Los Angeles to Seattle. After months of house hunting, we finally closed on a house in early February. We were up there a couple of weeks ago painting, window blinds…new carpet, etc and now the actual move is upon us. We are looking forward to it as we will be near both of our other daughters/husbands and a new grandchild. I also think Alaska Airlines will appreciate the frequent flyer activity between LA and Seattle from our LA daughter/husband/grandchildren and us as I know we will.

All went well…still a fair amount to finish up, but basics are done. Happy to be near our two daughters and their husbands, but will miss our LA daughter/husband and the grand kids. Alaska Airlines is and has been our friend with direct flights out of Burbank.

Thanks Brad!! Love being close to the two girls and their husbands and a new baby on the way! The hard part is leaving our LA family, but we were there when they started their family and want to do the same for our two up here.

Went pretty well….we weren’t sure how the Maine Coon sisters would handle the long car drive and hotels, but they did pretty good! Maybe it was the drugs we gave them?????

It is a beautiful city!! I love the green and all of the hiking trails!! We’ve been coming up here for 14 years when our youngest started college at the University of Washington. She never left and our oldest and her husband fell in love with the area through all that and ended here about 4 years ago. Our LA family loves it up here also and they have been making frequent trips up over the years. Our two grandchildren in LA (5&3) have been raised coming up here often to see their two aunts and uncles and now grandpa and grandma will also be here. Not the same they have had with us living close to them, but they understand that there is a new baby coming for our youngest which means a cousin for them!! We are blessed with a close family!! Hope all is well with you!

Thanks Gill….getting settled. It was a month ago today the packers came and packed everything up at our LA house. We left LA at the end of that week and had about a week and a half here before our furniture and stuff arrived and then the fun of unpacking (which we are still doing to some degree). Getting there and happy to be near our two daughters and their husbands (and a new baby due in June for our youngest). We already miss our grandchildren in LA, but they come up here often and we will do the same going back to LA. Hope all is well with you!!

You are very welcome, Kirt. I have heard good things about Seattle. Particularly with improvements in walking and cycling infrastructure! πŸ˜€
