Descanso Gardens Part 2

Descanso Gardens is a 150-acre botanical garden located in La Cañada Flintridge, Los Angeles County, California. If you’re not sure where that is in the Los Angeles Metro area, it’s in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains northwest of Pasadena. Descanso has a fascinating history dating back to 1937, more information here.

Summarizing from last weeks post: I was not prepared to take professional photographs of the surreal beauty of the Enchanted Forest of Lights we encountered at the Descanso Botanical Gardens just before Christmas. My son-in-law has the new I phone 11 which handles night photography really well. Last weeks photos were his and this week are the better ones I took that weren’t duplicates of his!! Enjoy!!

A magical wonderland Kirt. I hear the iPhone 11 is fabulous. Thinking I would love to upgrade.
Wishing you all the best in 2020 and looking forward to following your photography and art adventures.

In person if you could see the shots he took on his phone vs mine … the difference is very obvious….for these two posts I took the best of both without duplicating the shots. The 11 really does take stunning shots. Thanks for stopping by!!

Thanks for sharing both posts, Kirt. I actually like today’s photos better. I like seeing bigger patches of darkness. I think it makes the lighted areas stand out better. Just my 2¢

Well you just swelled my head as that relates to how a shot is framed….😎. For the 2 posts I took the best of both of our shots without duplicating. In person if you took a look at the same shot on both our phones the difference is obvious. I am amazed how well the 11 dies night shots, but again that’s one of the new features for that phone!!! Swelled head days thanks for the feedback!!
