Out-Takes: Christmas Hiker In The Woods

From last weeks post, the picture comes from a surprise Christmas Day snow (2017) in the Seattle area. As I’ve mentioned before, when I do a photo shoot I take a plethora of shots and use only the ones that past my personal muster. That being said in picking the snow scene I wanted for last weeks post,  I was reviewing all of the shots from that shoot. I had totally forgotten about these two. My son-in-law and I came across this “hiker in the woods” . We both had a good laugh over it and to this day have no idea who or what put this hiker in place and so thoughtfully decorated him for Christmas. I mentally put them in my “out-takes file” as I wasn’t going to use them for the project I was working on. I did want to share them as I thought they were a good kick-off post for the Holiday Season.

Ha — you got me! I thought you were talking about a live person. I almost spewed my coffee onto the computer, Kirt. LOL. These are terrific. It’s a great kickoff for the winter season and the holidays. Between fires and massive snowstorms… I hope you and yours are all safe and well. Hugs on the wing!

I still crack up when I look at it!! We are all well…a little soaked with all the rain the LA area has recurved, but local mountains are stunning with all the snow at the higher elevations!! Have a great weekend!!

I love it! When I first read the title, I thought you’d intended to write “hike”; but I was soon proved wrong. Thanks for sharing that bit of joy!

Around here, people randomly ‘Christmas-bomb’ trees along the roadside. You’ll be driving along, and suddenly there’s a little tree all gussied up with ornaments. It never fails to make me smile. (And now I’m laughing, because my foolish fingers typed “…make me smell”. Let’s hope that’s not the case…)

Love that fellow hiker. 🤣 Was he deep in the woods or situated where anyone could see him? It looks like a natural piece of wood that invited this artistic creation.

I love that you asked that question of how far into the woods he was. Not that far actually. We were on a snow covered fairway that was cut into the natural deep woods. He could only be seen by golfers as he was just before a bend in the fairway. He wasn’t obvious as he was tucked back a ways. I was thinking he would really be hard to see in the summer when all of the undergrowth would be leafed out. We did not go up to it, but it did look pretty solid so you could be right!! Thanks for stopping by!!
