Splashes of Color – Pacific Northwest Part Two

As a follow-up to last weeks post of fall colors from the Pacific Northwest, I have attached six shots I took last weekend while we were there. We had a great weekend and from a weather perspective we thought it was perfect (which to us is light rain most of the weekend). That may sound strange, but we haven’t seen rain since early August when our community in Goodyear, Arizona was impacted by a very strong monsoon thunderstorm and now that we are back in Southern California, no rain in sight. So, for us…we loved it…not to mention the time spent with two of or daughters and their husbands…perfect!

During a break in a light drizzle with sun trying to peek out, I went for a hike to capture the attached….

Our oldest was so disappointed with the rain as we were up there to surprise her for their house warming party which was a barbecue. The rain let up for their party, so it worked out well!! And you’re right about rain being welcome when you live in areas that don’t get much!

We have pictures of hubby barbecuing in the rain in Vancouver wearing his raincoat, sou’wester and wellies. You have to be prepared for anything in the Pacific Northwest.LOL

I love the splashes of color, Kirt, but I also like the variety of greens. That’s always what impressed me about the pacific northwest, all the many different shades of green. It’s so amazing to see those shades along side autumn color – great images!

Gotta say, it was so beautiful flying in with all of that intense green (remember my point of reference…Arizona desert and Southern California…burning horrifically into Malibu as I write this) and splashes of yellow, orange and red….stunning!!

Beautiful photos, Kirt! That’s what I’m seeing out in my yard right now – the big-leaf maples are still holding onto their bright yellow leaves, and the blueberry and azalea leaves are scarlet. I love it here! 🙂
