I created The Fog And The Island using a traditional watercolor technique. This technique focuses on subtle colors and shading.
The setting is a New England harbor that has an island at the entrance. The harbor itself is lined by a New England fishing village. The harbor is a busy port for fisherman and other boaters. All around the harbor are docks and moors for the many boats that call the harbor home. New England is infamous for its fishing industry and the towns that support it. The natural setting of harbor, island, ocean and coastline creates an ideal situation for artists. Thoughts?

Your image really has the feel of fog early morning on a sailboat.
Love the sharp boat images against the soft fog
Thank you very much Sir!! I really liked the setting and the effect the fog had on the harbor entrance!
This is beautiful, Kirt 🙂
Thank you very much Irene….I think the fog adds that element of peace and quiet!!
I agree so much, Kirt 🙂
Nice, peaceful image Kirt. It’s hard to believe it’s not just a photo of a misty morning.
Thanks Brad!!! I thought it was a peaceful presentation!! Fog days “quiet”??
misty morning musings? 🙂
Very nice! I love fog and this is a great shot/production, Kirt.
Thank you very much Dan!! I loved the setting with the fog!!
Kirt, you know I’m usually all about vivid colors… but I really do like this one. It’s calming, comforting in a way. It makes me imagine an old movie where I might see Audrey Hepburn, or Sean Connery, or maybe a young James Garner. Thanks for sharing. Hugs.
My pleasure and I think you and I see things similarly, but when I did this print it felt that way for me also….thanks for stopping by!!

It’s so serene.. and lovely with the fog!
Thank you very much Christy!!
I love this one Kirt. The fog and the island remind me so much of early mornings when we were hiking the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island. Such a magical or spooky feel depending on one’s mindset. A beautiful image.
I go with magical aspect:) It does have a Pacific Northwest look to it! Thanks for stopping by Sue!!
beautiful and the fog makes the boats stand out more from the water. Fantastic!
Thank you very much Gill for the feedback!! I think the scene has a very calming effect! Thanks for stopping by!!
